A while ago we encouraged questions on the Edgar Cayce material. The response was overwhelming so it was decided to temporarily put it on hold. But we thought it would be helpful to continue to keep this page up since others may find it of some benefit. Check back often, since we hope to resume accepting questions in the near future.

The 364 series of readings are on the subject of Atlantis. If you are a 'member' of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., (A.R.E.) you can borrow a that file. The A.R.E. also has a library that is open to the public and contains all of the Edgar Cayce readings. You can send a request to the ARE Library, 67th & Atlantic Ave., Virginia Beach, VA 23451 (you do not have to be a member) for the information. Yes, Edgar Cayce gave a number of readings on diabetes. A 3 volumn file is available from the Association of Research and Enlightenment, Inc.
Remember, application of medical information found in the Edgar Cayce readings should be undertaken ONLY under the supervision of a physician.

(Q) "Why is suicide considered wrong? Have we the right to leave the body?"
(A) "So long as there are those that depend upon the body! And how hath it been given? No man liveth to himself, no man dieth to himself. No man hath been so low that SOME soul hath not depended upon, relied upon same for strength.

"Thus we find while there may be those experiences, these are rather of a selfish nature. But remember He gave, "Those that would offend one of these, my little ones, better that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he were cast into the depths of the sea."

"Then, when thine whole body and the purposes of thine mind as to do EVIL, well that they be separated from the channel or the means of bringing offence."

(Q) "Is there danger of a suicide from this condition?"
(A) "Always danger, but it's a lack of judgment. Be consistent."

From Reading #3662-1 Given on 02/14/44

(Q) "Is there danger of suicide, as before?"
(A) "Not if we do these things. Without - well, the body is not responsible, as indicated. This is possession, you see. But this comes and goes.

"Do these things and we will bring near to normal conditions for this body."

I some times have a hard time understanding exactly what he is saying any suggestions for some one like me to understand better.(kyleelou)

REPLY:
dear kyleelou, to help you understand the reading better, I found that if I just took each part of a sentence, thought about that part, and didn't move on to the next part of the sentence until I thought I had what the first part meant, then I could understand it a little better. It also helps when trying to understand the readings if you are familiar with the concepts that Edgar Cayce had concerning what is necessary for the growth of souls, and how the basis for everything is spirituality-not spiritualism-etc. You can become more familiar with these concepts by reading some of the books written about him, such as There Is A River, or Many Mansions is especially good as it pretty much deciphers many hard to understand concepts that are in the readings. Most of all, I think it just takes time. The longer you study, read, and talk with others, the better th e understanding gets. As far as your SUICIDE question, I do remember readings where Edgar Cayce was doing a life reading for someone and the person was told that a previous suicide had really set that particular soul back quite a ways. I just moved to a new house, and all my books are still packed, or I'd give you a reading number, maybe someone else can help you with the specifics. (jmccarty)

The Edgar Cayce readings do not state when the hall of records will be found, and I haven't heard of the hall being discovered but there is a web site that list up-to-date news out of Egypt that you might want to add to your bookmark list:

As you probably already know, many books on Edgar Cayce are now out of print. A good place to start you search would be the A.R.E. Press since most the books published on Edgar Cayce were published by them. I've been very seccessful in finding out of print books on Edgar Cayce at used books sales.

From READING # 5749-4 Given on 8/06/33 "The Christ Consciousness is a universal consciousness of the Father Spirit. The Jesus consciousness is that man builds as body worship."

"In the Christ Consciousness, then, there is the oneness of self, self's desires, self's abilities, made in at-onement with the forces that may bring to pass that which is sought by an individual entity or soul. Hence at that particular period self was in accord. Hence the physical consciousness had the desire to make it an experience of the whole consciousness of self."

"Life is an essence of the Father. The Christ, taking up the life of the man Jesus, becomes life in glory; and may be glorified in each atom of a physical body that attunes self to the consciousness and the WILL of the Christ Spirit."

From READING 1206-13 Given on November 23, 1941

"...if ye would take each day, through thy experience, two almonds, ye will never have skin blemishes, ye will never be tempted even in body toward cancer nor towards those things that make blemishes in the body-forces themselves."

From READING #3180-3 Given on December 21, 1943

"...almonds are good and if an almond is taken each day, and kept up, you'll never have accumulations of tumors or such conditions through the body. An almond a day is much more in accord with keeping the doctor away, especially certain types of doctors, than apples. For the apple was the fall, not almond - for the almond blossomed when everything else died. Remember this is life!"

REPLY:
The Readings indicate that two souls may, in a number of incarnations, grow very close together in their pattern of evolution. These souls will need the help and assistance of each other as they evolve and will be drawn closely together, in any one incarnation, because of their many past associations and the intricate entwining of thir respective personalities.
